The song has to have a story that I believe in.

I am an immigrant in Chicago, and I create music inspired by the Eastern European Tradition, with my voice.

I was born in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, and emigrated to the United States in 2010. My music career started on the streets of Chicago.

I took my passions and began sharing my music and photography online.

This music explores the mysteries of pagan traditions of Eastern Europe, which contain existential themes, such as birth, old age, death, origins. The jazz quartet brings out the American influence, making it sound modern, relatable, woven into the fabric of our pluri-ethnic city.

At Sleeping Village, with Edinho Gerber, Hunter Diamond and Kenny Reichert. Chicago, 2023.

The good runs away from me, the bad catches up with me, and I have no one to complain to. I would complain to you, as if you were my older sibling...”

Coming soon! The album “Pui de Dor” with the band “Taraf de Chicago” has started in 2020, and recorded at Pro Musica Audio, with the help of my partner in this project - the arranger and music director Patrick Donley, and the expertise of the audio master Ken Christianson.

This project aims to extract the place in my heart dedicated to Moldova — nostalgia, good times, childhood, school, student life. It is a project that brings together professional musicians from Chicago, who interpret songs from Bessarabia, and are permeated by their energy. This is not an album of folk music, but rather a collection that represents a kaleidoscope of songs that represent for me Moldova as I remember it, my Moldova.

Music by: Zlata Tkaci, Tudor Chiriac, Mircea Oțel, Ion Macovei, Eugeniu Tamazlîcaru, and folk music from Moldova, Basarabia and Bucovina areas.

Musicians: Patrick Donley, Stephanie Pielok, Alex Brescanu, Olya Prohorova, Kitt Lyles, Hunter Diamond, and our guest drummers, Juan Pastor and Neil Hemphill.

This project was made possible by a grant from Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events 2020, and the generous contributions of Laszlo Revesz, Mihai Lehene, Marius Stan, Cristian Lupuț, Adrian Angyalosy, Oana Dobrean.

Special thanks to the Chicago Center for Music Education for providing music instruments. This product is available for pre-order.

Music samples:

Like the morning dew is human life. When the sun shines, it melts, it goes into the ground, and disappears…”

Blessed with a potent, crystalline voice and a striking stage presence, Everling delivers her unusual fusion with the utmost delicacy and elegance.
