The Chicago Gypsy Jazz Festival opens its 22nd edition with the Ana Everling Quartet, supported by its founder, Alfonso Ponticelli, for a solo set.

Ana Everling is a creative vocalist from Republic of Moldova, based in Chicago. Her music is often described as both innovative and respectful of traditional Eastern European styles. Everling has been praised for her ability to bring new life and energy to these timeless musical traditions, while also creating something entirely new and unique. Her new quartet sounds like folklore but it is all original compositions, with modern arrangements and improvised sound, delivering complex performances that address universal themes.
